International Financial Consulting Ltd. was engaged by the Asian Development Bank to support the Government of Pakistan in designing the business plan and future course of EXIM Bank of Pakistan. Part of the work included in-depth market research, including an online survey and in-depth interviews with national exporters and local financial institutions. The project included a peer analysis with EXIM banks in emerging markets and the facilitation of broad stakeholder consultations in Pakistan.

September 2018

ADB has approved technical assistance worth USD 500,000 on a grant basis to operationalize EXIM Bank of Pakistan by developing constitutive documents, strategy, systems, and policies for promoting investments and economic growth through international trade. ADB is in the process of selecting an international consulting firm (ICF) using quality based selection criteria. Selection of International consulting firm is underway which will be finalized by end January 2019.

November 2018

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between EXIM Bank of Pakistan and the Islamic Corporation for Insurance of Investment and Export Credit (ICIEC), a subsidiary of Islamic Development Bank is being finalized. The MoU will provide for ICIEC’s support to EXIM Bank’s underwriting and reinsurance services, etc.

January 2019

The Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) has in principle approved a technical assistance for EXIM Bank of Pakistan to prepare Islamic Trade Finance, Takaful products and related manuals. The IsDB grant will also be utilized to prepare marketing & communication strategy and enhancing institutional capacity of EXIM Bank of Pakistan.
